The 3D2N: Island of Dreams

Spend 3 days enjoying and relaxing amongst your Island of Dreams. Starting with cycling, but ending with activities.

Day 1

Come into Kamijima Islands in the morning by ferry from Mihara. Then we rent some electric assist bicycles and start the tour. The total length is about 30km long, but we will take our time, slowly riding over 2 suspension bridges, visiting empty temples, taking in panoramic ocean views, popping into cute local shops and talking to local people over 5-6 hours (including the lunch stops!).
We will finish cycling mid-afternoon and head to the onsen baths and soak the worry and troubles away.
There are 2 great Izakaya restaurants on the Island, both with great drinking environment with amazing food. One is a fusion place serving fresh island regional delicacies, and the other is a Sushi master who trained in Kyoto. Alternatively, a quiet Okonomiyaki restaurant run by an Island grandma provides a unique experience you will never find in the larger cities, eating straight off the hotplate and conversing!

Wind the night down by heading back to your central accommodation at the local minshuku style accomodation. This is a traditional home-stay like Japanese accomodation, a newly renovated 150 year old house. Sleeping is with comfortable floor futons, in a private room.

Day 2

Start the morning with a traditional home-cooked Japanese breakfast. Set off for the Shimanami Kaido

Day 3

Start the morning with a wholesome Japanese breakfast again. Today you will get to choose 2 activities which we will organise for you to experience! There is a lot on offer, so it just depends on your interests!

  3. Catamaran Yacht Cruise

  4. Kayaking Tour

  5. SUP boarding experience

  6. Local Pottery Making Class

  7. Traditional Vegetable based Cooking Class
